Building Flash Intros

Websites with flash introductions are quite common throughout today’s Internet. While this can be a great idea for some sites, it can be detrimental to others. Also people do not always set their introductions up in a positive way and therefore have a high bounce rate. I wrote this article to go over flash introductions and to explain the right and wrong way to use them.
The first thing you must know is that flash introductions are fantastic, but only if they are used correctly. For instance, if you have created a web site to promote a movie, than there is nothing wrong with creating a long and captivating flash introduction. This being said, a website that is created to sell personal hygiene products should not build a long introduction about the product, because they will only be impeding their own sales. You’ll want to make some introductions short and simple and this would be a good example of one that should have both of these criteria.
Just to recap, sites selling incidentals should not start out with long flash introductions or commercials, (with the exception of Old Spice, because they’re hilarious. Sites that are promoting a movie or a video game should start out with long and dramatic flash introductions.
Now that you know which sites should have long introductions and which should have shorter introductions, you need to know what to put in the introduction. It should be self evident that websites talking about films should have the film’s trailer in the introduction, but you’ll find its not so simple with other niches. For example, if you have a site that is selling suits, you should not show all of your suits in your flash introduction. People looking to buy a particular type of suit will be turned off by this intro and will leave before finishing the video. These websites should have a short introduction that lets users know where they are and what they can do on your website.
For those looking to sample flash sites to see how they work before implementing them on their main site may want to look into using a free site. Want a free flash website, than click here for a free website. This site is great because it lets you make a site that is fully interactive and fun to visit. I’d highly recommend paying this web site a visit today.
